The Project will also reduce the need for costly transmission upgrades, further contributing toward reduced energy costs for families and businesses. The project will ensure that the region has clean, reliable, affordable energy when it is needed the most, all while advancing the energy goals of Montezuma County and the State of Colorado.

Valley Range Energy Park is a clean energy solution that will decrease greenhouse gas emissions and support improved air quality. The project directly supports an increased supply of renewable energy by storing low-cost grid energy and converting it to a dispatchable resource that can be discharged during peak demand periods, resulting in increased renewable integration.

The project team is working closely with environmental stakeholders to identify and mitigate any potential impacts to sensitive resources, as well as identify opportunities to improve riparian zones, semi-arid grasslands, and native species habitats.
